The Netherlands

Our journey continued in the Netherlands, with two participating schools in the project, a homecoming for many of the artists and educators involved. The Dutch performances formed the second part of You will be Found, and they carried with them the confidence, learning, and creative energy gathered in Finland. Over several days, we performed four shows for nearly 900 visitors, each one offering a space for dialogue, empathy, and recognition.

The reaction was heartwarming. Teachers, students, parents, and representatives of organizations advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion attended the shows and spoke about their impact. Several schools expressed interest in hosting the performance themselves, underlining how powerfully the themes resonated with young audiences.

A special moment came when Lentiz College organized a dedicated matinee performance, allowing their entire school community to experience the production. Through this initiative, every student not only engaged with the themes of identity, diversity, and belonging but also learned about the international collaboration that had made the project possible.

The Netherlands also offered the perfect cultural backdrop to connect people beyond the stage. Our international guests experienced Dutch traditions, from tasting fresh herring to walking the Royal Route in The Hague, giving them a sense of home and history. The performances in the Netherlands reflected how art can thrive when supported by schools and communities that believe in openness, equality, and dialogue.
